New Siem Reap Provincial Hospital Construction Begins

Siem Reap: An $18.95 millon new Siem Reap Provincial Hospital has started construction on Tuesday. The provincial hospital is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Siem Reap Provincial Health Department Director Dr. Kros Sarath and Chief Representative of JICA Cambodia Office Kamei Haruko both led the ground breaking ceremony.

Jica says, “The project is aimed to improve health care services at the Siam Reap Provincial Hospital and four district hospitals by constructing facilities as well as providing medical equipment, Thereby contributing to expansion of health coverage in the province.”

The new hospital building in Siem Reap is approximately 7,260 square metres equipped with 212 beds in the outpatient department, emergency, surgical and other departments. It will also provide medical equipment such as radiography equipment, ultrasound equipment, and instruments for operating theatres for the provincial hospital and four district hospitals.
